Organizing Supplies
I've realized that I need to organize all my "stuff!"
I got an influx of materials and supplies suddenly and not knowing what to do with them, I simply stuffed them into a cabinet and forgot about them. Have you ever done this?
Now I've got overflowing cabinets and all these great materials that I know I own but cannot put my hands on.
With the end of the year approaching, I thought I better get a handle on the clutter. At my school, we have to pack up all of our belongings at the end of each year. We end up playing Tetris to get everything stored in our closets.
Tackling my supplies:
I started by grouping like objects together. When I realized that I have many of some items and few of others, I started putting items into bins and drawers.
I started out by grabbing some 3-drawer bins I had in storage. They were ugly and a little worn. I found some cute duct tape at my local home improvement store and covered the fronts of these drawers. Then I created the labels for the fronts.
You can find the labels for free by clicking HERE.
I added pictures on some of the drawers. Some of my students are non-readers and the pictures helped a lot!
I think the final look is very chic. What do you think?
Supply drawers, labeled for student access. The labels need to be aligned. |
